Covelong Surf, Music and Yoga Festival
The Covelong Point Surf, Music, and Yoga Festival is a new event hosted along the Kovalam beaches in the south of India that brings people of the community together to cherish and strengthen the society of Kovalam.
This project is an unofficial rebranding and promo video for the event. It was designed solely to advance my knowledge of motion media techniques. All video footage are snippets from the event's promo videos from past years.

Covelong Point is the first surfing destination in Chennai, India. Home to the World’s second longest city beach, Chennai attracts many tourists to the south of the subcontinent to enjoy its vast private beaches. But it was not until 2013 that the first surf school was started. Since then it had gained a lot of popularity from the locals
Since its inception, the festival has tied up with the Surfing Federation of India & the Asian Surfing Championship to take the surf competition in the country to the next level. Musicians worldwide from a variety of genres perform at the beach side music festival, while yoga and arts workshops take place throughout the day.
To truly capture the spirit of the festival, the branding of the event needed an overhaul. To move away from the hodgepodge of visual hierarchy of the current logo, the dynamic rebranding is simple yet vibrant, inspired by the visual, physical and sensory movements of waves, music, and yoga.
The colors and patterns come together in a simple and seamless manner to create a celebratory spirit. The style frames of the promo video adopt this visual aesthetic along with an interpolation of video to describe the multiplicity of the event.
